He dismissed the rumours that the new one-year deal doubles the player's salary.
"When initially he came here we said we'd review his contract, and of course he did very well and this is a club that rewards success," he said. "But I can tell you that the figures are miles out - total fiction I can tell you.
"He had a short term contract and now he has a longer term contract. I think its just a one-year extension.
"We said we'd renew his terms if he did well and nobody would argue that he's been oneof the best Premiership keepers."
