And it's an honour that Houllier believes the young keeper deserves.
He said: "He has impressed and has stepped up a bit. I believe in the boy, that is why I bought him.
"We beat Coventry 4-1 here two season's ago and but for Chris it would have been 10-1. He was outstanding. He is a very level-headed person who knows his time will come and I think this is maybe a good opportunity for him."
