Gerard Houllier has been advised to stay away from Anfield this evening.

Desperate to attend Roma game

Nobody needs a degree to work out how much pressure will be circulating around Anfield this evening for this massive game and doctors are hoping that Ged will stay at home and watch the game on the box instead.

However the defiant Liverpool manager is desperate to return to Anfield and will this afternoon make his decision known whether he's returning today or against Chelsea on Sunday.

Assistant manager Phil Thompson says he will respect the manager's decision whatever it is.

Speaking today, he said: "It's entirely down to Gerard. If he's looking towards Sunday instead we will go by his decision. He will deliver a peptalk to the team as usual."
