Gerard Houllier has confirmed that he is to hold talks with Patrik Berger and Vladimir Smicer regarding their Anfield futures.

The boss had previously confirmed that Danny Murphy is not for sale after speculation that he could be axed in the summer and he has been quick to repeat the 'hands off' warning, especially with Manchester City showing a keen interest.

"Danny knows we want to keep him. I definitely want to keep him. There are no worries on that," stressed Houllier.

Rumours at Anfield suggest that Berger and/or Smicer could be axed but the chances of them leaving depend on their own personal demands.

"We will also be meeting with the agents of Vladimir Smicer and Patrik Berger very soon," added Houllier. "It's been difficult at the moment because we have so many big games."

Manchester City are also rumoured to be interested in Patrik Berger.
