Houllier to stay?

Houllier has been under pressure in recent months as results and performances have been poor.

Chairman David Moores has said that a Champions League place is the 'least' the club expect making Liverpool's battle with Newcastle all the more important.

However, the People are reporting that in the past couple of weeks Houllier has had assurances off the board that he will be in charge next season whether the club finish fourth or not. Houllier himself has gone on record to say he will not walk away from the job.

Houllier is reported to be in negotiations to bring Djibril Cisse and Phillipe Mexes to Anfield next season which would suggest the Frenchman will not be saying au revoir.
