Houllier wants to keep the European Cup

Having already won the competition on four previous occasions they would join Real Madrid and AC Milan with a total of five and a permanent place in the club's trophy cabinet.

"The Champions League is the ultimate goal for us and if we win it then we keep it," said Houllier.

"It is our ambition and our target. If we keep the right attitude and the right players then we will win it one day."
