Houllier wants UEFA triumph

Houllier said: "The Basel game is past now and we need to learn lessons from that. We hope to go as far in the UEFA Cup as we did 18 months ago when we won it.

"We want to win the UEFA cup. The Premiership is our number one priority for everyone at this club and our second is to win the UEFA cup. The tradition for Liverpool Football club is to win things.

"Vitesse are a good side. They are on a very good run at the moment after a difficult period at the start of the season. To me Europe brings added value and experience to your game and the further we go the better for the young players."
