Houllier wary of Drogba danger

Drogba's late strike at Anfield earnt the visitors a vital 1-1 draw that gives Houllier's men a daunting task before a capacity crowd of over 60,000 at the Stade Velodrome.

The likes of Michael Owen, Harry Kewell and Milan Baros wil need to be at their best as Liverpool go in search of a goal in France, but Houllier has made clear the importance of thwarting the opposition attacking threat.

Houllier said: "Drogba was magnificent against Rennes at the weekend. He is a good striker. We need to stop the feed to Drogba and we have the personnel to do that.

"But Marseille are not only about Drogba, they have other good players too. They played well at Anfield. We knew they would react to losing 4-1 at Bastia the weekend before and tighten their defence, but they made life difficult for us with their tactics.

"They caught us on a bad day and Barthez made two very important saves at the end - it could have been 3-1.

"But that was not the real Liverpool that night, we did not have the same freshness. We have a plan for the Marseille game, we need to manage this tie."
