Houllier: We are two players from European glory

The Reds, of course, are currently involved in a fierce battle to merely qualuify for the competition. Houllier, though, insists that his side are close to European success.

Houllier said: "There are probably one or two more players we need but it took Manchester United years to reach that level. We have a vision and the players know where we want to go.

"Any effort we put in [this season] will count in the end. The champions League gives you more financial security but don't forget we are in Europe already. We want to finish in the top four, though. We are not satisfied. We want to win more."
