Houllier: We deserved a point

"A draw would have been a fair result but you wouldn't say their victory was undeserved," he said after the game. "Some of their players have played in two Champions League finals and this game will help us for the future as we are a young team.

"When you lose to a good team you've got to hold your hands up and say well done. Once they took the lead I knew it would be difficult because of their quality of passing and pressing.

"We lacked the finishing touch, but they were lucky with the goal which was deflected.

"Some of our players were nervous, we didn't keep hold of the ball enough, especially up front, and we could have done better."
