Florent Sinama was brought down by Franck Queudrue in the second half of a lacklustre game in which neither side created many chances.

"We had more chances than them and we had a cast-iron penalty," he said after the game. "Queudrue did not touch the ball at all. If he had it should have been a corner."

"In fact he just tackled the standing leg, and the player is now injured," he said of Florent Sinama Pongolle. "He has a swollen ankle and I don't know whether he will be fit for Thursday.

"It was a very strange with not many chances, but we probably had more than they had. They were very difficult to break down, and seem to have found a new balance playing 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1.

"There are two pluses from the game - one that we have kept a clean sheet for the first time in a long time and two that Michael Owen played for an hour after only coming back to training on Wednesday.''
