Houllier welcomes Murphy return

The 26-year-old England international, who has endured a difficult start to a campaign he began with such high hopes after being crowned player of the year last term, emerged from the substitutes bench to give the Reds a crucial lead in an impressive win over Leeds.

"I don't think Vladi will be involved at all this week but I was very pleased with Danny Murphy's comeback. As soon as he came on there was a spark in his game," said Houllier.

I was delighted with him especially when you remember he has not played for such a long time. He's not been available since we travelled to Ljubljana in mid-September. It's really good news to have him back because we need Danny fit.
"Both the substitutes played well for us against Leeds. It was a good decision to give Michael a rest and give Danny and Florent a run. Sometimes you are clever with these things, sometimes not."

Will we beat Blackburn... again?
