Houllier: We'll be ready for Chelsea

A disappointing Amsterdam Tournament, in which the Reds were held by Ajax and beaten by Galatasaray, is of little concern to the Frenchman as preparations continue for the beginnings of a hugely important Premiership campaign for both the manager and his under-pressure playing staff.

Houllier said: Our hard work will prepare us. Don't worry about that. It's understandable the games and travel are taking their toll at this stage. We are not in a good period now but by the end of next week the team will be where we want them to be.

"I think you have to put what happened against Galatasaray into perspective. I think the way Ajax destroyed Inter Milan also shows how well we did to get a 0-0 draw against them on Friday.

"In my mind I know the side I want to play against Chelsea. I would say it is about 80 per cent clear but we still have two games left before then."
