Houllier will fight to the death

"There is a big difference finishing in fourth place rather than fifth," said the Liverpool boss.

"But do not forget that we are still fourth, we are not sixth or seventh, and we will fight to the death to keep that.

"I will not be happy with fourth but maybe it will be a success because of the amount of injuries and funny decisions we have had, and will we make a serious challenge next season?

"I don't think all-round it has been a good season but if we finish fourth, we will have achieved something.

"I know some people do not agree. They would like to see us challenging Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea but, sadly, that's not the case."
