If Bobby Robson's side win they can still steal fourth place from Liverpool when the two sides meet at Anfield on Saturday.

"I was in Sefton Park on Sunday when a small boy told me that Shearer had missed a penalty and Newcastle had drawn," said Houllier.

"I won't be watching tonight, although my scouts will and regardless of what happens we are focusing on beating Newcastle at the weekend because we have momentum going.

"All I know is that we will reach that fourth place and we will do our best to beat Newcastle."
