"What cost us the game is the second goal," he admitted. "That was the turning point of the game."

When asked about his decision to start the game without Michael Owen, he said: "We've got another game on Thursday and the Cup Final on Sunday but Milan is a good striker. He was rested - he was not dropped at all.
"We'll compete to get into the top four - it's not finished yet," he added. "It's usually a part of the season in which we excel.
"We have the quarter-final of the UEFA Cup at stake plus the Wortington Cup final in Cardiff. That says everything.
