Hughes left fuming

The former Manchester United man complained about the referee after sending off Zurab Khizanishvili for his foul on Djibril Cisse.

"For me the right decision was a free-kick and a yellow card," said Hughes. "You must make a decision and stand by it, and you must accept the consequences if you get the decision wrong, and that's what I felt the referee did.
"Zurab made a genuine attempt to get the ball, it was nudged away from him. He wasn't cynically trying to take him out.
"It wasn't a goalscoring opportunity, he wasn't bearing down on goal and he was actually going away from the goal.
"There were players getting back and the referee needs to look at the decision.
"There were a few situations in the game I wasn't too happy with. We were down to 10 men and a number of decisions and the reactions of certain people were causing us frustrations.
"I just felt the referee could have done more to address that, but he didn't. I felt his decisions had an impact on the game. We felt some of their players went down a little too easily.

"The free-kick for their goal was a mistimed challenge, but these things build up and that's when you get players frustrated. We did not think things were balanced."
