Hyypia feels that Diouf will prove his worth to the Liverpool fans in due course.
He said: "It was always going to take time for Dioufy to get used to the football over here. He now knows there is so little time to dwell on the ball in this country and he is getting accustomed to it.
"He is a quality player. We see that every day in training and there is no doubt he has all the skills.
"He speaks a little bit of the language now and that will help him to settle a bit more. He is only going to get better and I think he will soon be a real star in this league."
