That year Dortmund was the venue. This season the Finnish star hopes Seville will be the venue of more glory.

Hyypia says:"It was special to win the UEFA Cup two years ago and I would love to lift it again as captain of Liverpool in May. Everyone at this club is taking the UEFA Cup serious and every player is willing to give one hundred per cent for the team cause."

"There are some good teams left in the UEFA Cup, including Vitesse Arnhem, and obviously with me joining Liverpool from Holland it will be a special occasion for me," he adds.

"When I played in Holland for Willem II nobody knew me as I played in quite a small team. Since I joined Liverpool everybody in Holland is interested in me.

"I had a great time in Holland and I am very happy to come back here and hopefully do a good job for Liverpool. I have played in this stadium many times before and it is really good place to play.

"The Vitesse team has changed in the past three years since I have been in England but I have Dutch television channels at home and I keep up to date with the Eredivisie. I know about their strengths and I can tell my team-mates about them."
