Hyypia glad to be in draw

Now Liverpool are in the group stages they are one of the top seeds and while everyone at Anfield is glad the Reds can defend their crown Hyypia admits the players were disappointed to have to start in the first qualifying round.

"It has certainly been a long run for us to get into the Champions League but now we are in the group stages we are happy," said the giant Finn.
 
"When UEFA put us into the first qualifying round no player was happy with that because it's strange to play a competitive and official game at the start of July.
 
"We have now played six qualifying games which isn't normal but we are happy to get the opportunity to defend our title. We are in the group stage now and we want to do well again.
 
"It will be very interesting to see who we get in the draw as there are some very good teams in it again. We can draw an English club so you never know who you might get!"
