Hyypia picked up the knock in the defeat at Southampton and will miss tomorrow's visit to Watford. Djimi Traore is expected to take his place at centre-half with Jamie Carragher continuing at right-back.
Luckily for the Reds it is not a severe injury and Hyypia should be fit again for Liverpool's next game on February 1st. Liverpool's Head of Press Ian Cotton said: "Sami had a scan at Melwood on Sunday morning which revealed he has a hip injury. He should be back for the game at Charlton."
