"The Premiership is often end to end stuff and running from one goal to another," said the Liverpool defender. "But in Europe we play a bit slower and build up from the back.

"So I think that we have a lot of new players and for them European is more suited to them.

"But I've seen them adapt to the Premiership very quickly and next year will be different."
