Hyypia wants away improvement

Liverpool go to the Emirates Stadium tomorrow still looking for their first away Premiership win of the season. To date the Reds have taken only one point from a possible fifteen on their travels and scored one goal, a Robbie Fowler penalty in the first game at Sheffield United.

The Reds go into tomorrow's game on the back of five successive wins however, and three successive clean sheets. Sami Hyypia believes the tightening up at the back will be vital if Liverpool are to improve their away form.

"Keeping the two clean sheets in successive league games was good. It means you have a chance to achieve something in the game," said Hyypia.

"I looked at the table after the Reading match and we were still only seventh though which is not too bad considering how we started and the fact that we still do not have three points for an away win yet.

"It is only when we get our away form together will I feel better about things.
"Only then will we be able to go higher and higher in the table. We are playing well at home but it has not happened away yet. If we knew how to alter that we would have changed it already, but we should approach the game the way we do at home.

"Maybe the reason is that we have such great support at Anfield, and that could effect our lads when they travel away. The start of the season has been strange in terms of the away form but individually we have not been right away but two successive clean sheets will help everyone."
