Hyypia wants the title

The Premiership title is the only thing Hyypia hasn't won with the Reds and it's a medal he's desperate to add to his collection.

"A Championship medal is what's missing for me. It would be a great achievement for the club, for the team and for me to win the Premier League," said the Finn.

"It is going to be difficult. We have had quite a good start, but we need to keep it going until the end of the season.

"It is no good having one or two good months and then one or two bad ones. That is not the way to win a Premier League title. We have to make sure that we are consistent.

"I don't know if it is my best chance this season. The year we finished second [2002], it was very unfortunate that Arsenal were having an even-better season.

"You have your best chance before every year. The start of this season has been even better than in previous years under Rafa. So from that point of view we are in a better position than in previous seasons. But you have to be so consistent. So my best chance? I wouldn't say that.

"What I would say is the fans have been very good to me and I want to give them something back. I know they only want one thing and I'm not going to hide it. I want to win the title as much as anyone else in Liverpool."
