Hyypia wary of compatriat

Hyypia will face his fellow countryman Mikael Forssell, who has already scored 19 goals for Birmingham this season, on Saturday.

Sami has warned his team mates of the Finn's abilities saying: "Forssell is a good player and someone I know well from working with him with the national team of Finland.

"He is their key player, their best player. We will have to watch him closely but at the same time be aware they have other good players as well.

"Forssell is a friend of mine but we'll forget about friendships on Saturday afternoon because this is a game we have to win.

"We have done well to win our last two games but that will count for nothing if we don't win our next two and don't finish fourth."

Hyypia admits the trip to St Andrews brings back bad memories of Liverpool's defeat there last season, but he says it's a confident Reds' side which will be making the journey this time around.

"We didn't play well there last season and it was a bad day for us," he said. "This time we want to do much better because we know how important the match is.

"The good thing at the moment is that our spirit and togetherness is great. We all want to achieve fourth place and then look forward to the Champions League next season.

"This has been a difficult season for us but we can still go some way to saving it if we win our next two games. That's the aim, starting at Birmingham."
