Influential Valencia skipper to miss Anfield clash

The Argentine defender was sent off for two bookable offences during the Spanish sides 2-2 draw with Basle this evening, and is subsequently suspended.

Going down to ten men ultimately cost Valencia the victory, and gave Basle a much needed point as they compete with Liverpool for qualification from Group B.
