"Stephane will be playing for the reserves," confirmed Houllier. "He has been out with a medial ligament injury which he picked up in training on the day before we travelled to Middlesbrough.
"Before that he had an ankle injury which he picked up for the national team against Russia in the European Championships. That was an injury he had been struggling with earlier in the season.
"It is just one of a number of injuries we have suffered this season, and we are glad to have him back again."
