Injury update

Keane was named as a subsitute against Portsmouth on Wednesday as Rafael Benitez didn't want to risk him as he hadn't fully recovered from a groin injury. However, the former Spurs player is now fully fit and could face his old club today.

"Keane is available. It is my decision in the end whether he plays, but he is another one who wants to play in every game and I'm sure he'd like to see their fans and say hello again," said Benitez.

"He was a key player for them for years. He is a fantastic professional and he always gave 100 per cent for them. He is now doing that for us but I'm sure their fans will appreciate him."

Fernando Torres is back in training but it is unclear whether he will be risked this afternoon or not.

"We have to check today in our last training session before we go to London. Then we will decide. He is very close," added the boss.

"We are still winning without him which is important because it shows the character and quality of our team and squad.

"Clearly he is a key player. He can change games, score goals and if you are not playing well he can win a game for you. So always you miss a player like that. But I have been really pleased with the performances of the other players.

"If you want to stay at the top of the table for a long time you need good players on the pitch and in the stands and we have both things."
