Inter Milan linked with planned Liverpool swoop

Ron Yeats discovered Hyypia while playing for Willem II and he was quick to persuade the Liverpool management to make a move for him. The Reds then secured the defender for a bargain £2.6million.

The defender is not for sale but money does talk - every player has a price, but in reality, the Italians wouldn't be prepared to meet the huge fee that Liverpool would demand.

Hyypia's presence at Liverpool has to be as important as Michael Owen's and for that reason alone, the Italians will be given the 'hands-off' warning should they make an official approach.
