In friendlies Javier Mascherano played in Argentina's 1-1 draw with Switzerland, while Dirk Kuyt played for Holland in a 2-0 win over South Korea. Both players entered the fray as second half subs.

Daniel Agger scored for Denmark as they came from 3-0 down at home to Sweden to level at 3-3 in a qualifier but the game was abandoned after 89 minutes when a Danish supporter ran on the pitch and tried to attack the referee following a red card.
