Steven Gerrard played the full 90 minutes for England as they beat Russia 3-0 at Wembley while Peter Crouch came on for the final ten minutes.

Fernando Torres was on the scoresheet as Spain beat Latvia 2-0, as was John Arne Riise who scored for Norway in their 2-2 draw at home to Greece.

Sami Hyypia played the full 90 minutes for Finland as they were held 0-0 at home to Poland. Defensive partner Daniel Agger only lasted half an hour in Denmark's 4-0 win over Liechtenstein.

Ryan Babel played the full 90 minutes for the Dutch as they beat Albania 1-0 thanks to a last minute winner from Ruud Van Nistelroy. Dirk Kuyt was an unused subsitute for Holland.

Andriy Voronin came on the last half hour as the Ukraine lost 2-1 at home to Italy.
