International round up

Xabi Alonso scored twice for Spain as they beat Daniel Agger's Denmark 3-0. Fernando Torres played an hour in that game while Pepe Reina was a 76th minute subsitute.

Sami Hyypia and Yossi Benayoun faced off against each other as Finland played Israel. It is Hyypia who returns to Melwood with the bragging rights as Finland won 2-0.

Andriy Voronin played the first half as the Ukraine beat Poland 1-0. The Liverpool striker hit the crossbar before being subsituted.

Steven Gerrard played just under an hour for England in their disappointing 2-2 home draw with the Czech Republic. Gerrard can at least be happy with his own performance as he hauled England back into a game they were outplayed in.

Robbie Keane scored in Ireland's 1-1 away draw with Norway. Steve Finnan also played in that one.

Andrea Dossena earned his second international cap as he came on at half time in Italy's 2-2 draw with Austria.
