Steven Gerrard scored twice and Glen Johnson got an assist in England's 5-1 win over Croatia.

Martin Skrtel played for Slovakia as they beat Northern Ireland 2-0 in Windsor Park to all but book their place in South Africa next Summer.

Dirk Kuyt played the full 90 minutes as already qualified Holland ended Scotland's qualification hopes with a 1-0 win at Hampden Park.

In Group Two Sotirios Kyrgiakos helped Greece earn a 1-1 draw away in Moldova that keeps them in the runners up spot while Yossi Benayoun captained Israel to a 7-0 win over Luxembourg. Israel are currently fourth, two points off Greece and Latvia in second and third respectively but those two teams meet each other in the next game.

Fernando Torres played 57 minutes as already qualified Spain strolled to a 3-0 win over Estonia.

Andriy Voronin played for Ukraine as they were held to a disappointing 0-0 at Belarus. Ukraine are two points behind second placed Croatia with a game in hand, although that game is against England.
