According to the Daily Mirror, the billionaireowner of the Montreal Canadians ice hockey club, is preparing to offer £5,000 per share, valuing the club at £172 million.
Gillet's proposed offer values the club at £16million more than the Dubai International Capital deal, which has yet to be finalised.
Of concern to Liverpool fans will be the belief that Gillet is in favour of groundshare.
