"It was great of the club to sign me up," he told the official site. "We didn't really have talks. It was more of a case of one 'talk' because I always wanted to sign and there was never going to be a problem.
"Obviously you never know what's going to happen in football and sometimes you have no choice but to move on to further your career. But I hope that's never going to be the case with me.
"As far as I'm concerned, I want to spend the rest of my career at Liverpool. I'm settled in the area. I have a family here and I've got another baby on the way at the end of the season."
