Jamie on the attack

"I've had a lot of criticism in the past, but I've always felt that my defensive work would stand up to anyone in the league," he said.

"I didn't want to lose what I feel is my basic strength, but I felt maybe I should get involved more and that was something I was determined to do as soon as I got back in the team.

"I wanted to see how it went, see if it affected my defensive play and if I lost something defensively to assess whether I gained something going forward. But I think at the moment it's been going quite well.

"I've even come close to scoring a couple of times. In the derby Nigel Martyn made a great save from my shot which was deflected and Shaka Hislop made a good save last week. I'm just determined to get one before the end of the season."
