The Liverpool striker scored twice on Saturday to set the Reds on their way to a 4-0 away win at Wigan. After the game the Latics boss hailed Bellamy's performance.

"Bellamy is a top player. He has pace to spare which is always a dangerous thing to have," said Jewell.

"He perhaps didn't settle straight away but that can happen at a new club. But I'm sure those two goals will do him and Liverpool the world of good.

"He's got his spark back and I'm sure you may well now see Liverpool go on a long unbeaten run."
