The keeper, who had a two-game loan spell with Liverpool in January, helped earn his side a 1-1 draw.

"We've come away with a worthy point today," said Wolves boss Dave Jones.

"It's not the easiest place to come to. I thought Paul Jones made some fantastic saves during the game and I felt we kept our discipline.

"We could have won at the death but we stood firm and really the fans deserved the day today."

Newcastle must now win their game in hand at Southampton on Wednesday and beat Liverpool to stand a chance of qualifying for the Champions League.
