Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he expects Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson to be fit in time for the Citizens' trip to Anfield on Sunday.
The Brazilian was replaced at half time during City's Champions League fixture against Atalanta on Wednesday before his replacement, Claudio Bravo, was sent off – forcing right-back Kyle Walker to deputise in goal.
Despite continued uncertainty surrounding Ederson's fitness, Klopp has insisted that he expects the 26-year-old to make his return to the first team against the Reds this weekend.
"
“Last night it was a precaution. I watched the game obviously and didn’t see any problem.”
Klopp went onto say that he has experienced similar situations during his time as a manager,
"
"And you say 'Okay, no risk. Come off.' These kind of things happen constantly and you have to react then. I don’t see him not playing on Sunday."
The meeting between the two sides on Sunday will be the biggest game in the Premier League title race so far.
The Reds currently top the table but City could potentially cut their lead to just three points with a victory.
