Keane not impressed with Staunton

Manchester United skipper Roy Keane has slated former Liverpool defender Steve Staunton for not backing him during his row with the Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy, which resulted in Keane having to be sent home disgraced.

Staunton spoke publicly to defend McCarthy following the row, saying that Keane was out of order for the comments thrown at the Ireland boss and that hasn't gone down well with Keane.

Speaking about the situation, Keane said: "There was no way I was going back, not after what Mick had said and what the senior players had done to me.

"I actually feel more betrayed by them than I do by Mick - in particular Quinn, Staunton and Alan Kelly."
