Although the King will naturally be disappointed to have been overlooked for the manager's job he was quick to give his full support to Hodgson.
"I look very favourably on the appointment," said Dalglish.
"I have known Roy a long time and have a great respect for him.
"We've not had detailed conversations yet but my interests are in Liverpool."
