The mercurial Australian may have won many plaudits and countless admirers with his dashing style of play at Elland Road, but he insists that now is the time for him to hold trophies aloft on a regular basis at Anfield.

Kewell said: "I've definitely under-achieved yeah. I haven't done anything with my career really and I've achieved nothing and I've done nothing.

"There are so many things I want to win, so many trophies. I feel confident I can do it because if you're not confident then why are you out there on the pitch?

"That was the point of coming to Liverpool. I've come to a great club to hopefully win things, to be able to put things right."
