The Australians are 1-0 down from the first leg but are hopeful of turning the tie around in front of their own supporters and booking their place in international football's premier competition.

"It will be a big boost playing the last leg in Sydney, not just for the whole Australian team but especially for the Sydney boys," said Kewell.

"We have not played a World Cup play-off in Sydney in a long while. The match on Wednesday is going to be something special. Qualification would mean a lot. I want to have played in at least one World Cup before I retire.

"Many of my friends have been to a World Cup and they say there's nothing else like it.

"We talk about the World Cup when we're with our clubs and it's every footballer's dream to play at one. Every four years the world stops and just watches football."
