Kewell is still struggling after recovering from a groin injury he picked up during the FA Cup final. He admits he is not fully match fit and may be used as an impact player from the bench instead.

"I am not frustrated. Guus Hiddink is a great manager, who knows exactly how he wants to play the game," said the Liverpool winger.

"He has a plan and I fit in there somewhere along the line.

"I do not know what the team will be against Croatia. Everyone wants to start but it is down to the manager. If I am on the bench, I will just wait for my opportunity and try to make a bit of an impact if I do get on."
