Kewell returns

Kewell is part of the squad that has travelled to Brussels for this Wednesday's Champions League group stage game with Anderlecht. It is the first time Kewell has been in the first team squad since the European Cup final last May.

Kewell limped out of the AC Milan game with a groin injury and then his comeback was delayed further when he had a hernia operation but Rafael Benitez is glad to see the return of the Australian this week.

He said: "Harry is feeling much better now. He will definitely be travelling with us and could maybe play some part, we will have to assess his fitness before the game.

"If he doesn't figure against Anderlecht then I am sure he will be back playing either at the weekend or the following midweek.

"His return will be a big boost for us. He is the kind of player who can beat players and get in crosses from the by-line from which the likes of Peter Crouch and Fernando Morientes can benefit."
