Although no official bid has yet been made, Gerard Houllier is believed to have switched his attention from Damien Duff following Blackburn's decision to put a £17 million price tag on the Irishman's head.

Leeds United are preapred to accept bids of £7 million for Kewell and his agent Bernie Mandic is confident he can find a buyer.

"Harry will make a decision by the end of the month and Leeds will be informed," he said.

"Harry will make a decision over the next couple of days and Leeds will naturally be informed first about that decision.

"Leeds chairman Professor John McKenzie gets back from Japan on Wednesday and he is the man who needs to be informed. along with Peter Reid obviously."
