Kirkland discharged following hospital drama

Liverpool 'keeper Chris Kirkland has been discharged from hospital after suffering a blow to his head at Melwood earlier today.

Club staff made a 999 call from Melwood at 1.45pm today and Kirkland was rushed to hospital by paramedics.

"Chris slipped earlier today at the training ground and banged his head," said a club spokesman. "As a precaution he has been for a check up at the hospital but has been given the all clear and has now returned home."
