Klopp admits quality is lacking

Liverpool's rollercoaster season continues with a victory over Arsenal on Saturday, less than a week after losing to Premier League strugglers Leicester City.

Manager Jurgen Klopp admits that inconsistency is unacceptable and  the quality of his squad is partly to blame for that.

"It is obviously the case we are inconsistent," he said after the 3-1 win at Anfield.

"I know we don't have to doubt the attitude, and the kind of attitude we usually are looking for was here against Arsenal

They were really motivated and you cannot play like this if you have any issues, but we struggled in other games.

"So, OK, you say it is about quality and sometimes probably we don't have the quality, but with quality you have potential, and you make quality with work and all that stuff."

Saturday's result temporarily lifted Liverpool back up to third place in the table, before Manchester City's win at Sunderland knocked them back into fourth, two points ahead of Arsenal but having played one game more.
