Initially Kuyt was facing three months on the sidelines with his ankle injury. After the swelling came down club doctors re-assessed their timeline and said he would only be facing a month out and now Roy Hodgson has revealed Kuyt could be fit to face Chelsea next week.
"Dirk Kuyt is making incredible progress. He shouldn't be as far advanced as he is with his ankle but he's looking good. I don't think he'll be fit for the weekend but maybe the weekend after," said the boss.
