"We're very disappointed but there are a lot of positives to take from the game," Kuyt told the club's official website.
"We showed a lot of character and this team proved that we never give up and fight until the end.
"That's what we did against Chelsea and that's what we're going to do in the league. Hopefully we can bounce back in the league and if Manchester United struggle they know we will be there.
"It's not over yet. We have some games left and we'll make sure we're ready for Arsenal next week. There is more to come and hopefully we can win the league. We will be giving everything to try and do so."
